【摘要】:1.1TheserequirementscoverelectricallyoperatedsmokedetectormonitorsintendedtobeusedinordinaryindoorlocationsinaccordancewiththeNationalElectricalCode,NFPA70;theLifeSafetyCode,NFPA101;andChapter2oftheNationalFireAlarmCode,NFPA72.1.2Ascoveredbytheserequirements,asmokedetectormonitorisaunitthatprovidesfortheconnectionandsupervisionofinitiatingcircuitswhichare,inturn,tobeconnectedtosmokedetectors.Thesmokedetectorsmaybesinglestationormultiplestationandareinstalledwithinindividuallivingunitsofmultifamilyresidencesorhotelormotelrooms.Themonitorprovidesalarmortroubleindicationsatanattendedcentralmonitoringlocationasasupplementtothesignalindicationprovidedatthelocationofthesmokedetector.Theseunitsarenotintendedforuseasfireprotectivesignalingcontrolunits.1.3Inadditiontosmokedetectormonitoring,amonitorcoveredbytheserequirementsmayprovideformanualactivationofalarmsignalswithintheindividuallivingunits(whetherintegralwiththesmokedetectorsornot)oneitheranindividualorzonebasis.1.4Aninstallationwiringdiagramattachedtothemonitor,orreferencedinthemarkingsonthemonitor,indicatesthedevicesandcircuitsacceptableforconnectiontoitinthefield.1.5Theserequirementsdonotcoverautomaticfiredetectorsoralertingdevicesnotprovidedaspartofthemonitor,nordotheycoverunitsintendedforconnectiontosmokedetectorsthat:a)Donothaveintegralsoundingdevicesorb)Areinstalledincommonareasofmultifamilydwellings.1.6Aproductthatcontainsfeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsnewordifferentfromthosecoveredbytherequirementsinthisStandard,andthatinvolvesariskoffire,electricshock,orinjurytopersonsshallbeevaluatedusingtheappropriateadditionalcomponentandend-productrequirementstodeterminethatthelevelofsafetyasoriginallyanticipatedbytheintentofthisStandardismaintained.Aproductwhosefeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsconflictwithspecificrequirementsorprovisionsofthisStandardshallnotbejudgedtocomplywiththisStandard.Whereappropriate,revisionofrequirementsshallbeproposedandadoptedinconformancewiththemethodsemployedfordevelopment,revision,andimplementationofthisStandard.
