Scope: This document, the JAUS Payload Interface Service Set (ASxxxx), defines a message-passing interface for a generic payload, sensor, or actuator. These services represent a logical interface particularly useful when those defined by other JAUS Service Sets [AS6060, AS6057] are not applicable. Additional capabilities are specified in the JAUS Core Service Set [AS5710] and are frequently referenced herein.
