【摘要】:1.1Thesetestmethodscovertheestablishmentofperformancerequirementsfortheutilizationofasingle-use,enteralfeedingdevicewitharetentionballoon,usedbymedicalprofessionalsforprovidingameansofnutritionand/oradministrationofmedicationtopatientsbymeansofnaturalorifice(nasal,oral,transluminal)andorasurgicallycreatedstoma.Theproductismanufacturedinvarioussizesandmaterialssuchassilicone,urethane,andvariouspolymers(aswellascombinationsofthese)andisprovidednonsterileforsterilizationandsterileforsingleuseonly.RationaleforthesetestmethodscanbefoundinAppendixX1.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
